Position Summary

Full time opportunity based in Kensington, SA 5068.

Reporting to General Manager – Store Development, the Store Development Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of stores that are undergoing build, renovation and conversion. Lead and deliver a clear project plan that is adhered to across all relevant departments, designed to optimise the speed and quality of project delivery from handover to opening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that OTR store openings including new builds, redevelopments and conversions are opened at the highest possible standards.
  • Be the lead point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of OTR store developments.
  • Report pre-opening on project progress using clear project tracking tools and processes, ensure the business is informed of issues and that active steps are taken to mitigate problems.
  • Clear and detailed plans exist for all stores trading through works. We are proactively planning for challenges and mitigating risks.
  • Report post-opening on project close out actions and ensure all issues at site are known and escalated as appropriate.
  • Travel to store development projects and be on the ground for key dates such as handover from external contractors and opening day.
  • Be the key contact for each store in the portfolio with daily touch points in place.
  • Manage budgets and expenditures for store development projects, ensuring financial oversight and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines in the planning and execution of store developments.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive records and reports, including project plans, status reports, and financial documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, providing recommendations for improvements and ensuring continuous enhancement of store opening processes.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in a relevant field
  • At least a Diploma in a relevant field
  • Highly desirable to have experience in project management.
  • Strong exposure to and understanding of a retail business environment and the trades/organisations associated with store fit outs.
  • Highly detailed organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
