Support Worker – Meaningful Companionship | Palmview
Are you someone who values genuine connection and enjoys spending quality time with others? We’re looking for a warm and reliable Support Worker to support a bright, mature gentleman living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation in Palmview.
About the Role:
Our client is a thoughtful and engaging man who enjoys quiet, home-based activities such as tending to his bonsai trees, playing cards, and spending time with animals. He’s looking for a Support Worker who can build a strong, trusting connection and share in his interests at home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Engage in meaningful home-based activities
- Encourage and support the client’s hobbies and routines
- Foster a calm, respectful, and positive environment
Shift Details:
- Days: 3 days per week
- Hours: 9:30am – 2:30pm
- Location: Palmview, QLD
About You:
- You’re empathetic, patient, and enjoy building genuine relationships
- You have experience or a strong interest in disability support or aged care
- You’re comfortable with quiet, home-based support
- A valid driver’s license and NDIS Worker Screening Check are essential
QSSS hourly rates are Weekday $34.45, Evening $37.00, Night $38.00, Saturday $47.00, Sunday $60.50, Public Holidays $73.80 -(sorry, rate not negotiable).
We also support our staff through our EAP service which offers 4 x free counselling sessions where required, as well as discounted physiotherapy sessions at select physio practices while also having the assurance of consistency of Clients you support. You have a comprehensive suite of online learning to support you and face to face learnings.
Your key responsibilities & accountabilities…
- To deliver high quality support to our Participants in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Participants' needs with our Participants, team & Support Specialist.
- Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Participants needs. - Provide support to our Participants as required.
- Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner.
- Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required.
- Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Participants.
- To support our Participants to achieve their NDIS Goals.
To be successful you must…

- Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Hold or be willing to obtain NDIS worker screening or yellow card
- Hold or be willing to obtain a blue card
