Position Overview
At Tiwi Support Services, we are seeking a committed team member for a permanent and long-term position. In addition to providing daily care and support, the right candidate will enhance our service quality by remaining calm and effective in emergencies, applying healthcare knowledge when required.
This role requires professionalism, reliability, and a long-term commitment to supporting our clients. Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living needs, including personal care (hygiene, dressing), meal preparation, and household support.
- Deliver Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Respite services in line with care plans.
- Respond effectively in emergencies, applying healthcare knowledge and sound judgment.
- Provide transport and accompany clients to community, social, and civic activities.
- Support the development of life skills that build independence and confidence.
- Offer emotional and mental support to improve clients’ well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation and promptly report any changes in health or behavior.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance (essential).
- Diploma of Nursing or higher nursing qualification (highly regarded).
- Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in healthcare, disability, or aged care sectors, ideally with emergency/critical care exposure.
- Valid driver’s licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients and families.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and long-term commitment to client care.
- Availability to work across a flexible roster (including nights, weekends, and public holidays).

- This role is based in the Northern Territory. Applicants must either be located here or be willing to relocate.
