Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. As a System Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our organization's systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of network security protocols and technologies

- Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing

- Experience with firewall administration and intrusion detection systems

- Familiarity with encryption algorithms and cryptographic protocols

- Knowledge of secure coding practices for web applications

- Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying system vulnerabilities

- Ability to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends

- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities:

1. Designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security measures across our organization's systems.

2. Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure components.

3. Identifying potential security risks or weaknesses in existing systems or proposed changes.

4. Collaborating with development teams to ensure secure coding practices are followed during application development.

5. Implementing effective firewall configurations that provide maximum protection against external threats.

6. Monitoring system logs for any suspicious activities or breaches in security protocols.

7. Investigating reported incidents promptly while providing timely resolution or escalation as necessary.

8. Staying updated on emerging cyber threats through continuous research and attending relevant industry conferences/training programs.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a System Security Engineer or in a similar role.

3. Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) is highly desirable.

4. Proficiency in using security tools such as Nessus, Wireshark, and Metasploit.

5. Strong understanding of network protocols and TCP/IP stack.

6. Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems for vulnerabilities.
