About the Role
As a Teacher Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of quality education by working closely with teaching staff to assist with learning activities, classroom preparation, and student engagement. You will provide practical support to students both in and out of the classroom, including during playground supervision. The role involves working with students with diverse needs, supporting curriculum access, self-regulation, and personal care where required (training provided). You will demonstrate empathy, discretion, and strong communication skills, while working independently and collaboratively to achieve positive learning outcomes. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential.
This is a permanent part-time role, working 60 hours per fortnight (0.79 FTE).
Your Responsibilities
As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Display respect and empathy for students with high level needs
Support students in and out of the classroom, including during playground duty
Display confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
Assist with personal care needs as required, including general health and safety of students - training will be provided
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and students to support positive outcomes
Support students with self-regulation and curriculum access
Support the use of reasonable adjustments for students with disability
Proven ability to work independently, achieving quality work outcomes
Demonstrated high-level communication skills
Efficient multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills
