Yanco Agricultural High School is a selective, coeducational, fully residential school with a projected 2026 student enrolment of 350 students who reside across all of New South Wales and in some cases interstate. Located in the New South Wales Riverina, 12km from Leeton, the school has 280 hectares, including 180 hectares of intensive irrigation and dry land agriculture and is bordered by the Murrumbidgee River.
On the school grounds students have access to tennis courts, a gymnasium, swimming pool, ten hectares of sporting ovals, after-hours library and resource centre, as well as a host of individual and team activities at school and in the local community. The school has outstanding agricultural facilities and is a leader in agricultural education. Programs include show stock teams in sheep, beef cattle, equine and poultry who travel extensively and provide additional opportunities for students to excel in this area of interest.
The school has a diverse range of staff who support both the day and residential component of the school. The School Excellence Plan identifies a focus on improving literacy and numeracy skills, HSC achievement, student wellbeing, high potential and gifted education, as well as enhancing educational aspiration. The school community is invested in working in partnership with the school to develop and deliver on a common vision where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential in the premier agricultural high school in New South Wales.
