Position Information
Melonba High School is a school located in the new suburb of Melonba near Marsden Park. The school opened in it's temporary premises at the start of 2024 with years 7 and 8 students only. At the beginning of 2025 the school was moved to it's permanent premises and now has students in years 7, 8 and 9. It is expected to experience rapid growth enrolment in the first 5 years of operation. When completed, the school will have capacity for 2000 students. Our first HSC cohort will be in 2028.The school incorporates an innovative and future focused educational model, reflective of agile teaching and learning areas while also supporting the welfare needs of students.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Music
- Experience in teaching music at the high school level, with a proven ability to engage students in both theoretical and practical aspects of music.
- Ability to design and implement an innovative and inclusive music curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities while integrating literacy, technology and contemporary music trends into lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Proven experience in directing and managing school music ensembles, such as bands, choirs, or orchestras to prepare students for performances, competitions, and community events, fostering a passion for music and teamwork among students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and parents to create a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging student participation and fostering a love for music within the school community.
