Wagga Wagga City Council’s Parks & Gardens Strategic Operations Management Team are seeking an experienced individual with previous leadership experience to provide quality service delivery systems, processes and services in the establishment and maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves, and sportsgrounds.
- Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week)
- Commencing salary of $3,343.26 with the opportunity to progress to $4,011.91 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

Your new role:
As the Team Leader Parks Operations (Open Space), you will be responsible for working
collaboratively within the Parks & Reserves Operations management team to lead a team to deliver
high-level presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, open spaces, sportsgrounds, zoo and
cemeteries.
The position is responsible for the overall operational management of Council’s open space service
areas, leading, engaging, mentoring, and developing the team, develop and implement maintenance
and inspection schedules, project manage speciality maintenance and/or preparation of facilities
and assist the Manager with the development and implementation of the annual work programs and
operational plans.
You may also be required to operate and maintain items of plant as well as undertake gardening
duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
- Qualifications relevant to the role such as a Minimum Certificate III Horticulture / Green keeping / Agriculture.
- Class MR Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP)
- AQF III Chemical Application Certificate.
- AQF Level 4 Chemical Risk Management Certificate.
- Chainsaw Certificate Crosscut / Felling.
- Substantial experience relevant to the role including the ability to lead, engage, mentor, and develop a team, ensuring effective personnel management.
- Strong time management, planning, financial and administrative skills; and
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
