Job Description
At Alternaleaf, our doctors combine evidence-based practice with innovation to support thousands of patients across Australia. We're looking for experienced, reliable and committed Medical Practitioners to join our telehealth team on a contractor basis, working a minimum of 22 hours per week during structured clinic hours.
The role:
- Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base
- Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults
- Embrace digital tools to optimise patient outcomes and service efficiency
- Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care
- Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment
- Commit to providing a minimum of 22 hours each week to your Alternaleaf patients.
- Being able to provide availability consistently 6 weeks in advance.
Qualifications
We’re seeking dependable doctors who thrive in fast-paced, digital-first environments and want to make a lasting impact in an evolving clinical space. This role is not suited to doctors who cannot commit consistant hours to the clinic each week.
You bring:
- MBBS or equivalent and an unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
- Experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume GP, or telehealth settings will be highly regarded
- Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10–15 minute consults (6 patients/hour)
- Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
- Strong clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
- Strong documentation/admin skills
- Comfortable working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
- Punctual, reliable and responsive – you value team collaboration and patient continuity

Online Pre-assessment:
Please note, all shortlisted applicants will be required to complete and pass online technical testing via our testing partner prior to being considereed for interview.
Initial Training:
Successful applicants will need to be available for initial training from Monday to Thursday within business hours during week one.
You will be joining a highly motivated, dynamic team that will support you on your journey from the start. The Education team will take you through onboarding, ensuring you are equipped with all the knowledge needed to run consults. You will have a designated Doctor Support Team Leader to assist with any queries during clinic operating hours, including monthly 1:1’s and individualised fortnightly data reports.
