In the role of Manager (Legislation), Commercial Partnerships, you will lead stakeholder engagement across diverse groups to deliver policy, strategy, and legislative reviews that benefit public transport customers and the bus industry. Success in the role requires balancing competing stakeholder needs, applying critical thinking, and leveraging subject matter expertise to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Research, define and analyse complex policy and legislation, and develop solutions that consider a variety of perspectives, including but not limited to the public, industry and Government.
Identify and pursue policy opportunities to review regulatory frameworks balancing customer outcomes, a responsive and sustainable public transport network, government priorities and industry visions.
Manage a program of strategic policy and legislative work, delivering initiatives in a timely and professional manner, including preparing well researched submissions, briefs and policy documents.
Engage, communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across Queensland and nationally, including within the department, other Queensland government departments and jurisdictions, industry and community in relation to the delivery of a responsive and sustainable public transport network.
Requirements of the role
Demonstrated experience in strategic policy design and development.
Proven ability to manage strategic policy and legislative projects within tight timeframes.
Skilled in researching, interpreting, and analysing complex information to inform policy recommendations and produce concise, high-impact written materials.
Strong capability in engaging, consulting, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
