About the Opportunity
Join our Trade Planning team based in Henderson, WA. Reporting to the Electrical Trade Planner – Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for developing detailed work orders for electrical maintenance tasks. These tasks support safe and efficient execution by trade personnel on board Collins Class Submarines and within workshop environments.
Your work will play a key role in ensuring the maintenance schedule is fully supported and approved. All planning activities must align with ASC and departmental processes, with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability across ASC Corporate and RAN planning systems and databases.
Responsibilities
- Review and determine correct maintenance standards and drawings to develop consistent work packs.
- Generation of work orders and work scope in an efficient manner in line with business and work group priorities.
- Ensure work can be carried out safely and reliably by relevant personnel.
- Liaise with stakeholders to prioritise and revise work plans as needed.
- Interpret complex engineering specifications, documentation, recommendations and work instructions to support planning activities.
About you
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in electrical maintenance and/or engineering. Ideally, you bring at least 7 years post trade experience, but we value capability and attitude just as much as tenure. You have a solid understanding of electrical maintenance principles and know how to plan and coordinate work effectively.
You’re comfortable working independently but also know how to collaborate with others to get the job done. Your communication skills allow you to engage confidently across all levels of the business, and you’re someone who can influence, encourage, and support teams to deliver accurate and reliable outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- Electrical trade qualification or engineering technician background.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance within shipbuilding, submarine, or heavy engineering environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, Particularly Excel.
- Experience with IFS ERP (Desirable, not essential).
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
