If you’re the go-to person, with the know-how to keep facilities running like clockwork, we have an opportunity for a Trades Assistant / Grounds Handy Person for the Village and Facilities Management Services based at the Cooper Basin Camp which is the accommodation base for workers at the Oil Gas Plant.
This is a full-time role working 2 weeks in and 2 weeks off.
Who are we looking for?
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibilities will be to deliver various Grounds and related labour services as part of a trades team. You must also be willing to provide a broad range of assistance to other services provided by Sodexo. You will be required to attend to the maintenance of grounds areas, unloading and loading equipment, and general manual labour etc.
The role is based in the camp. You will be required to learn and abide by the (Santos) safety procedures - this is good stepping stone for those looking to enter the mining industry.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Delivering and picking-up equipment (tools, piping and services)
- Delivering and transporting personnel to areas of mine
- Previous grounds and general maintenance experience in a remote site, mine camp, school, or large grounds area
- Able to follow instructions and ensure effective time management in the contractual service deliver
- Previous experience working with power tools, ride on mowers, chemical handling
- Ideally, some previous experience working with safe usage of related chemicals, fertilisers, poisons and pesticides, as well as strong safety awareness and safe work ethic
- Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Current Open Driver License
