Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital which employs over 1,000 staff and is the main acute care hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services. Shoalhaven Hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Children’s Ward and Maternity Unit as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre and sub-acute Mental Health Unit. Shoalhaven Hospital is currently undergoing a $438 million redevelopment.

What you'll be doing
To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment. The position will rotate between ICU (6 months), Anaesthetics (3 months) and Emergency (3 months). The Trainee will participate in a rotating roster of days, evenings, nights and weekends however there will be a more senior doctor on site at all times and the Trainee will undertake patient care consistent with their level of training and clinical competency. The Trainee will also participate as participate as part of the CERS team response site wide.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- At least three years working as a Medical Officer
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment
- Preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and standby rosters
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary framework
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education
- A professional attitude and flexibility in work role
