Levantine Hill Estate is a benchmark producer of ultra-premium wines in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Our vineyard is meticulously managed for low yields and exceptional quality, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of our region. We combine traditional viticulture with cutting-edge techniques to craft wines of elegance, complexity, and longevity.
Our estate comprises 160 acres under vine, spread across two distinct vineyard sites (one spanning Maroondah Highway and one spanning Hill Road), each contributing unique characteristics to our wines.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Vineyard Manager to lead the viticultural operations of our estate. This is a rare opportunity to work with one of Australia’s most prestigious vineyards, where attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all vineyard operations including pruning, canopy management, irrigation, pest and disease control, and harvest.
- Manage a small, dedicated team of vineyard staff and contractors.
- Collaborate closely with the winemaking team to ensure fruit quality aligns with stylistic goals.
- Monitor and maintain vineyard health, soil quality, and sustainability practices.
- Operate and maintain vineyard machinery and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of vineyard activities and compliance requirements.
- Work with and create budgets for approval.
About You
- Proven experience in premium viticulture, ideally in low-yielding, cool-climate vineyards.
- Experience in a vineyard 100 acres under vine or larger.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Deep understanding of vine physiology, pest and disease management, and sustainable practices.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Formal qualifications in viticulture or agriculture are highly regarded.
- A valid Victorian driver’s licence and a forklift licence.
- Computer literacy particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
