About The Opportunity
We have a newly created full time permanent opportunity at our 76,000 square metre DC at Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine on Day Shift 7am to 3.06pm assisting our dynamic Automation team.
The main purpose of this busy, hands-on role will be to ensure the smooth operation of our newly implemented Schaefer Automation system through the accurate replenishment and troubleshooting of all associated consumables. Your previous organisation skills and ability to work under pressure to keep automation rolling will be put to the test!
Reporting to the Warehouse Team Manager of Automation your day to day will include:
- Carry out regular stock counts for all automation-related consumables
- Identify and investigate any discrepancies between physical stock and system records
- Monitor stock levels and reorder, setting and continuously improving threshold levels based on usage trends and consumption rates to ensure no stoppages
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure PO’s have been raised in a timely manner
- Continuously seek ways to improve stock control, purchasing efficiencies and workflow processes as they relate to Warehouse Automation consumables.
- Physical maintenance of Warehouse Automation consumables, including replenishing boxes when machine is low, load and replacing lids, replace labels when rolls are empty and refilling glue reservoirs/tanks safely.
- Basic troubleshooting of automated equipment related to consumable usage (e.g. label applicators, glue dispensers).
- Dispose of used packaging materials in line with waste management procedures
- Maintain a safe working environment
About YOU
You have ideally worked in a fast-paced large DC environment, and you have an energetic, positive outlook and can work well to deadlines.
In addition, you have the following skills/attributes:
- Experience working in a FMCG environment desirable
- Experience with automation systems: i.e. GTP desirable (Goods To Person), CUBY, ASRS (Automated Stock Retrieval System)
- Comfortable working at heights and in restricted workspaces
- Proven Intermediate PC skills
- Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills; ability to prioritise workload
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills to all levels
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently
