About the Role:
As the Workplace Relations Specialist reporting to the Workplace Relations & Systems Manager, you will play a key role in providing policy and industrial relations advice. You will work closely with our P&C Business Partners and line managers to address operational matters, including Award interpretation, performance management, misconduct, and workplace investigations. Your strategic insights will help identify and mitigate industrial relations risks, ensuring positive outcomes for our employees and the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult and support managers and employees on IR/P&C matters.
- Proactively address potential or active industrial relations issues and drive timely resolutions.
- Provide strategic advice on industrial relations risks and opportunities.
- Conduct and/or coordinate workplace investigations and manage grievance procedures.
- Coordinate the development and review of P&C policies and procedures.
- Coach and train managers on policies, processes and industrial instruments.
- Participate in union consultations and dispute resolutions.
- Review remuneration practices for Award compliance.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree qualifications in HR, business, or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role or senior HR generalist position, which must include direct industrial relations experience within a large, unionized organization.
- Strong understanding of current employment legislation and HR practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct research and provide insights and analysis.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills across Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build positive working relationships.
What’s on offer
We are offering a competitive remuneration package of $146,512 to $161,317 base salary plus 12% superannuation.
