About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead our team of HD Fitters in our mobile plant workshop on an 8:6 FIFO roster. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance, repair, and servicing of our heavy mobile equipment fleet. You’ll manage day-to-day workshop operations, support your team, and ensure all work meets operational, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop Operations & Scheduling – Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily workshop activities, including preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and major component change-outs.
- Team Leadership – Supervise and mentor a team of HD Fitters, allocating tasks, managing rosters, and fostering a positive, safety-first culture.
- Equipment Performance & Reliability – Monitor fleet performance, identify maintenance priorities, and ensure all work meets OEM and site standards.
- Resource & Inventory Management – Manage tooling, parts, and consumables to support continuous workshop operations while controlling costs.
- Safety & Compliance – Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in line with statutory requirements, company policies, and site safety procedures.
- Reporting & Communication – Liaise with operations, procurement, and management teams, providing updates on equipment availability, maintenance progress, and resource needs.
- Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent).
- Proven supervisory experience in a mobile plant workshop environment.
- Strong working knowledge of mining or heavy earthmoving equipment, such as dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and haul trucks.
- Solid understanding of preventative maintenance systems, breakdown repairs, and component rebuilds.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
