Film and Television Technician

A key position has become available for a Film and Television Technician to join and provide technical and audio-visual support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and staff, in the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education.
As the Film and Television Technician you will be a natural at collaboration and work closely with the AV Production Manager, Heads of Academic Group, program coordinators and sessional staff, to ensure that equipment is available when requested.

In this multi-faceted role you will also assist the AV Manager in ensuring that all equipment is kept in good working order, and provides accurate advice to the AV Production Manager, regarding required replacement, repair, and purchases of new equipment.

You will need to possess well-developed organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, be extremely flexible, use initiative and be responsive to the needs of those that the position directly supports.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification and or relevant work experience in the Digital Media discipline.
  • High level technical ability / experience with production and post-production pathways and workflow within film, television and digital imaging industries.
  • Broad knowledge of audio-visual production equipment including camera, lighting, grip and sound equipment.
  • Previous experience in audio visual equipment and space maintenance.
