Who you are

To be a successful IKEA co-worker you will have a strong customer focus, are confident about approaching people and are driven by finding the best solution for their needs. You will be enthusiastic about working with others in a team and have the ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Your personal values reflect those of IKEA, and you have a true passion for home furnishings and customer service. As our store trades 7 days a week you will be available to be rostered morning, afternoon, and evenings. For Logistics roles, you may be required to work evenings and overnight hours. You are required to work a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends, both Saturday & Sunday. All roles require manual handling and are physically demanding as you will be on your feet all day.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for co-workers in the following areas;

  • Sales - Combine your positive attitude and exceptional customer service to provide product advice and memorable in-store experiences to our customers.
  • Logistics- Select, pack and dispatch orders. Work in a fast paced environment, ensuring high standards of selection and presentation are met every time to delight our customers when their purchases arrive for collection in store via Click & Collect. You may also help re-stock our shelves to ensure that our customers can find their next home furnishing purchase.
  • Customer Service – the friendly face of IKEA, you may be greeting our customers at the store entry, helping customers with returns or home delivery, or servicing customers at our checkouts.
  • IKEA Food – Enthusiastic, passionate about food and retail, and love connecting with others, you will be responsible for cash handling, customer service, maintaining the customer restaurant and/or Swedish Food Market, or preparing and serving meals to our hungry customers.

What you need to know

Recruitment process and key dates:
  • We require adequate availability, without holidays booked, during the peak trading period (from October 2022 to February 2023) for these positions, Saturday & Sunday availability is a must.
  • If your application is successful, you will receive a call or be requested to complete a short video interview.
  • If successful, you will be invited to a group assessment centre 19/10/2022 or 20/10/2022.
  • If successful, your shifts will commence from 31st October 2022.
