$83,283 - $91,103 a year
Perth, Western Australia
Contract

Reference Number: 1022506

About the Role:
We want to inspire staff to share Curtin’s vision of becoming a leading global university and to proudly work with us to achieve that goal. Join a vibrant and open plan office where our customer-focused People and Culture team work collaboratively to support a diverse range of stakeholders University-wide.

In this role, you’ll be part of a large, supportive and high-performing team responsible for delivering services across the employee life cycle — from onboarding and payroll to leave, contracts, and exits. You’ll work closely with staff across the University, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and industrial instruments, while supporting the systems that impact the entire Curtin workforce.

Your day-to-day:

In this role, you'll be part of a supportive team helping to deliver great service across the employee experience. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing high-quality, timely and accurate advice to employees and stakeholders on employment matters.
  • Running pay audit reports and helping ensure our data is clean and reliable.
  • Investigating and resolving payroll and benefits queries.
  • Preparing contracts in line with policy and legislative requirements.
  • Managing sponsored visa processes and conducting VEVO checks.
  • Coordinating staff relocations with faculties, schools and our relocation provider.
  • Supporting offboarding processes like resignations, retirements and redundancies.
Who we are looking for:

We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy, people-focused environment. You’ll bring:
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a range of people.
  • An aptitude for learning new systems and adapting to change.
  • Experience working across the employee lifecycle — from onboarding to exits.
  • The ability to interpret and provide clear advice on entitlements, policies and conditions.
  • A high level of accuracy, strong numeracy skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence using HR systems and digital applications — experience with Ascender Pay or similar is a plus.
  • A relevant qualification or experience in HR — desirable but not essential
Role Requirements:
  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
  • Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
