About the Role
Based in Mackay, this apprenticeship will give you hands-on experience in a workshop environment, where you’ll be involved in a variety of light, medium, and heavy fabrication work on conveyor system equipment. Your tasks will include:
- Manufacturing conveyor components including guards, mesh panels, brackets, pulleys, and drives.
- Completing modification work and ensuring product quality standards are met.
- Interpreting technical drawings to fabricate components to customer specifications.
- Fully welding components to pre-paint stage while maintaining high-quality assurance standards.
- Reporting hazards and near misses, actively contributing to our "100% Safe Behaviours and Conditions, Today" safety culture.
- Communicating issues with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of equipment to uphold safety and quality.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to develop technical skills.
- Strong communication and numerical skills.
- A self-starter mindset, with a commitment to safety and quality.
- Dedication to completing the apprenticeship and launching your career.
- Previous workshop experience is an advantage but not essential.
