Wave Art in Crows Nest is more than just an art studio — we’re a creative community where teaching art means fostering creativity, confidence, and connection in every student.
Our kids’ art programs (Primary Painters and Tweens & Teens) make up 80% of our business, alongside adult classes, Create & Meditate sessions, and regular weekend Paint pARTies.
We’re looking for reliable, creative, and responsible team members to help us deliver these programs and contribute ideas to keep them fresh, fun, and inspiring.
Role responsibilities may include:
- Assisting, teaching, or leading children’s art sessions (ages 5–12)
- Assisting with school pick-up via a walking bus from a local school
- Occasionally driving the Wave Art company car for school pick-ups (in rare cases when the owner is unavailable — full driver’s licence preferred)
- Collaborating on ideas for engaging and exciting school holiday programs
- Supporting adult classes and weekend Paint pARTies as required
- Setting up, packing down, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming studio environment
- Monitor supplies, maintain clean and organised studio
About you:
- WWCC (Working With Children Check) — required
- Essential: Availability during school holidays
- Experience with children or in creative fields is highly valued (teaching experience a bonus)
- A passion for art and a belief in its benefits for creativity, confidence, and mental health
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to engage people of all ages with patience and enthusiasm
- Full driver’s licence preferred (occasional driving may be required)
- ABN required
- Located in close proximity to the studio

Hours & Pay:

- Pay rates based on role:
- Assist: $25/hr
- Teach/Instruct: $30/hr
- Lead & oversee: $35/hr
