The Team
Delivery and Support Branch (DSB) is responsible for leading the AEC’s preparation and delivery of electoral services and plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of election events, including federal elections, by-elections and referendums.
The branch initiates and implements bodies of work that includes tasking and supporting the agency in event preparation, managing electoral roll products and services for the AEC and third parties, the continuous improvement and modernisation of service delivery processes, management of significant election delivery projects and systems and engagement with major suppliers and other key stakeholders.
The Opportunity
As an Assistant Director within Delivery and Support Branch, you will lead the day-to-day management and overall delivery of tasks and projects relating to the successful conduct of an electoral event, including participating in section planning and aligning longer term projects and plans with agency goals and objectives.
You will be required to manage and support multiple staff within their section as well as coordinate working groups as required.
You will manage and deliver large scale projects, build internal and external relationships, manage procurement processes, manage priorities, complete complex analysis of problems and data, anticipate stakeholder needs, provide advice to management and ensure quality outcomes.
You will develop and manage a nationally consistent strategic election forecasting framework and associated doctrine to ensure proper allocation and consistent application of forecast parameters. You will contribute to policy formulation analysis and judgement on complex issues and make significant contribution to the management, preparation and coordination of policy formulation with a focusing on election forecasting.
During an electoral event, you will provide high quality and timely advice and reporting to Branch leadership and the Senior Executives cohort on delivery milestones and areas requiring focus. There will be increased workloads, expectations and reduced timeframes for delivery.

- Technical knowledge and experience in electoral legislation and operational requirements or the ability to quickly acquire it.
