Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll step into a hands-on, full-time Assistant General Manager role where you’ll be a key driver of operational excellence and guest satisfaction at Strahan Village. With four distinct food & beverage outlets on site, this role places a strong emphasis on food & beverage operations. You’ll leverage your significant experience and work with the Restaurant & Bar Managers to oversee daily operations across all outlets, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and guest engagement. Your expertise will be central to maintaining consistency, driving service excellence, and delivering memorable dining experiences that set Strahan Village apart.
You’ll bring your leadership skills to the forefront, guiding and inspiring your team while shaping every aspect of the guest experience. Your passion for hospitality and tourism will shine through in the details of daily operations, as you foster a culture of excellence and teamwork. What you’ll do:
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of The Strahan Village, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence across all departments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Oversee guest services, accommodation, food and beverage, and maintenance operations to achieve high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Drive revenue growth and operational efficiency by implementing effective business strategies and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Support the development and implementation of the annual Business Plan and budget for the property.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control initiatives to achieve business objectives.
- Act as a key point of contact for guest feedback, resolving issues promptly and professionally to maintain our reputation for outstanding hospitality.
- In conjunction with the People & Culture team, recruit, train and develop staff to achieve consistently high standards of quality.
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and community engagement initiatives to promote The Strahan Village as a premier destination.
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated 5 years experience in hospitality and tourism management, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong food & beverage management experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, reporting, and cost management.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A genuine passion for delivering memorable guest experiences and upholding NRMA’s values of inclusion, diversity, and community.
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality, business, or a related field are highly regarded.
