We are now seeking caring and motivated Assistants in Midwifery to join our maternity care team in a casual role. In this role, you will provide essential support to Registered Midwives and Nurses in delivering high-quality care to women and newborns during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. This role will see you assist Midwives with routine care of mothers and newborns, support women during labor and postnatal recovery under supervision and provide emotional reassurance and practical support to families.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Currently enrolled as a 2nd year first semester in a Undergraduate Midwifery Program.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Commitment to women-centred Maternity care
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including night duty and weekends with a minimum of 2 shifts/week.
  • Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation category A.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
