About the Group/Team
The Revenue Platform group is deeply rooted within the Growth org at Canva which is responsible for supercharging Canva’s product growth engine. We lead the strategy and roadmap to empower anyone, anywhere to experience the full value of Canva, be it through subscription management, flawless checkout journeys or localised payment experiences.
The Monetization Enablement subgroup within the Revenue Platform is pivotal in allowing other teams in Canva to bring new monetization strategies to market as fast as possible. Comprising of 4 teams the subgroup simplifies how products are sold, how coupon campaigns are run, and streamlines the checkout flow.
The B2B Billing team plays a key role in supporting one of the company’s top goals: “Empower Enterprise.” Their focus is on building tools and systems that enable our enterprise sales teams to concentrate on selling rather than administration. As the integration point between many systems, the team is involved in the entire process from sales lead to fulfilled orders. Our mission is to automate the creation and management of all B2B subscriptions while supporting new customer billing types, a key initiative in enabling Canva to scale to more customers.
About the Role/Specialty
As an Engineer in this team, you will design, develop, and deploy robust solutions through hands-on software development, working closely with team leads, designers, and product managers to deliver impactful features and experiments to customers worldwide.
You will autonomously develop solutions and clearly articulate technical concepts to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will mentor teammates and advocate proactively for engineering needs.
You'll be taking initiative in driving projects forward, and navigating challenges and roadblocks to achieve goals. You will also identify complexities in your work and actively seek opportunities for simplification and improvement.
You're probably a match if:
You have strong proficiency in backend development, with solid expertise in Java.
You possess a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
You have proven experience building APIs and working effectively with databases.
You're able to engage closely with internal stakeholders, understanding their requirements, iterating on ideas, and developing tailored solutions.
You're skilled in evaluating solution options, considering tradeoffs, and proposing scalable software architectures to address business challenges.
You're comfortable and effective in collaborative environments involving frequent interactions, pair programming, and regular code reviews.
