We are a small community group conducting basketball training in the Inner West. We also coach various junior basketball teams in various competitions.
We are looking for referees for our Sunday activities who can ref at least 3 games per day, as we will have a schedule of 6 games per week across various venues, with timings variable, generally a morning session from 8am-1pm and afternoon session from 1-4pm.
Referees should have experience at refereeing, ideally holding BA or association accreditation, however for the right person this can be waivered.
We also require coaches who could assist with group and team training sessions on Thursday nights 5-6pm and Saturdays 9am-12:30, and who could also coach competition teams on Sundays in the inner west. We would work to assign a coach permanently to a given team to insure continuity.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Someone who loves basketball and ideally has played before, or is still playing
For reffing - should have experience at refereeing, ideally holding BA or association accreditation, however for the right person this can be waivered.
- Has been coached before, either at school or in competition teams
- Can help guide new players as to what to do
- Can communicate well and work with children
- Has completed a working with children check (can assist if you haven't done this)
- Is prepared to participate in BA training programs (online or in person)
For the right candidate we can train you up to performing the role.
