The Role
We are seeking a qualified and safety-focused Boilermaker to join our high-performance maintenance team in a fast-paced concrete pipe manufacturing environment. This role involves carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fabrication tasks to ensure plant reliability and equipment efficiency across all areas of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication to repair, modify or manufacture plant and equipment components
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across fixed and mobile assets
- Work in conjunction with fitters, electricians, and operators to diagnose faults and implement timely repairs
- Maintain safe work practices and adhere to site-specific and legislative safety requirements
- Complete required documentation, such as maintenance records, job cards, and hazard reports
- Support improvement projects, including upgrades and installation of new equipment
- Ensure workshop tools and materials are stored and used safely and efficiently
- Be available for rostered and ad-hoc Saturday work and extended weekday overtime
Skills and Experience
- Trade-qualified Boilermaker (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
- Proven experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environments (concrete or similar preferred)
- Strong welding skills (MIG/Stick essential; TIG advantageous)
- Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of safe maintenance procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production setting
- Forklift and EWP licence (advantageous)
- Ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Capable of working in hot, dusty, and noisy environments
- Ability to perform manual handling and physical tasks, including lifting, grinding, and working at heights
