About the Role
Bondi Boulangerie is seeking an experienced and passionate Bread & Cake Baker to lead our daily bread production and help build a rotating, seasonal cake offering. Based at our flagship Bondi Beach bakery, this hands-on role is ideal for someone who values quality, consistency, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake sourdough, baguettes, focaccia, and other fresh breads daily
- Maintain and manage natural starters, bulk fermentation, and proofing processes
- Operate and clean all bread-related equipment, including deck ovens
- Collaborate on a core range of simple cakes (e.g., loaf cakes, canelés, eclairs)
- Bake off par-baked or pre-proofed products for our other stores when needed
- Ensure consistency across shaping, baking times, and product quality
- Help forecast production volumes and adjust recipes/quantities accordingly
- Support the pastry team during quiet periods or peak demands
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of professional experience in artisan bread or cake baking
- Strong understanding of fermentation and dough handling
- Eye for detail and pride in high-quality, consistent output
- Ability to work early mornings and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
