Supervision will be provided primarily by Staff Specialist Psychiatrists. The Career Medical Officer will be expected to participate in relevant clinical, educational and administrative meetings.

What you'll be doing
The Career Medical Officer works to provide ‘back fill’ for psychiatry registrars positions which have not been filled. Hours of duty are 0830-1700 Monday to Friday. The CMO will also be expected to join the after hours on-call roster for registrar’s. The rotations include acute inpatient and general community psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, aged care psychiatry services, psychiatric emergency, mental health intensive care.

- MBBS or equivalent and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration and current NSW Drivers Licence
- Experience working in acute mental health settings. And familiarity with NSW Mental Health Legislation
- Experience and evidence of clinical supervision of mental health staff
- Demonstrated high level of communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy
- Evidence of ongoing participation in continuing education
- Familiarity with principles and practices of clinical governance
