We are an Integrative Medicine General Practice seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team on a casual basis. As a casual medical receptionist, a willingness to work evenings and Saturdays is required; along with the ability to work varying days (must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays), and shifts/hours throughout the week, averaging 12 hours per week.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for all reception duties including:
· Acting as the first point of contact to patients, greeting them on arrival and accurately processing relevant paperwork
· Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
· Scheduling appointments
· Entering and processing patient billing
· Reconciling daily banking
· Scanning and document management
· Maintaining confidential patient information and records
· Liaising with medical professionals, pathology services, couriers, and other medical suppliers
· Ad hoc administrative tasks
· Maintenance and general cleaning of reception area, consulting rooms, and amenity areas
· Autoclaving and maintaining medical instruments
· Adhering to Practice protocols, policies, and procedures
Skills & Experience:
· Prior experience in a healthcare reception role, ideally in a general practice setting
· High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
· Ability to communicate with clarity both verbally (face-to-face and telephone) and written
· A strong understanding of customer service principles with an ability to appropriately apply these to a healthcare setting
· Ability to work under pressure and respond to fluctuating workflow
· Proven multi-tasking and problem-solving skills whilst maintaining critical attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
· Efficient time management skills and ability to carefully plan and prioritise tasks
· Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and also collaboratively within a small team
· Ability to follow direction; accept feedback, learn new tasks, and adapt to change. Strong written and verbal communication skills

Current CPR certificate required.
Must have had a minimum of two Covid-19 vaccinations.
