We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced female support worker to join our team in supporting individuals living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) under the NDIS. This role requires a sincere, trauma-informed approach and a commitment to building trust and positive therapeutic relationships with participants.
You will be supporting participants to build daily living skills, enhance emotional well-being, maintain routine, and access community services — while promoting their independence and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to a participant with BPD
- Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and community access
- Build rapport and emotional safety through consistent, non-judgmental support
- Assist with daily routines, meal prep, transport, and shopping
- Implement strategies aligned with behaviour support plans
- Maintain professional boundaries and accurate documentation
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and support teams
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with BPD
- Genuinely caring, emotionally resilient, and reliable
- Ability to maintain calm and supportive presence in emotionally charged situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and mental health
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) or higher
- Valid Australian Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle
- Full comprehensive car insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (current)
- National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (current)
- Completed NDIS Orientation Module
- Up-to-date immunisations (as per current guidelines)
Desirable:
- Additional training or experience in mental health, psychosocial recovery, or trauma-informed care
- Flexibility with shift times including weekends or evenings
