Our Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mine and is showing no signs of slowing down! Dawson’s CHPP consists of 3 active dump stations, km’s of conveyor systems, A Coal Preparation Plant, Train Load Out and associated stockpile management equipment proven capable of processing 12 million + feed per annum.
It’s not just the large Fixed plant equipment that you would be working on, it’s also the placement of Dawson, it is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
Job Description
-A rare opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our well-established Maintenance team at our Dawson Mine CHPP in Moura, QLD. The Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mining operation with one of the largest Coal Handling and Preparation Plants in Australia.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Supervisors oversees Scheduled and ad-hoc mechanical maintenance functions within the coal handling preparation plant (CHPP) in order to optimise the performance of the CHPP process in accordance with the business plan.
The CHPP Mechanical Supervisor’s key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of Equipment Maintenance including Preventative Maintenance, Modular Maintenance, Fault Finding, Rebuilds, Repairs, and Commissioning.
- Collaborate and work effectively with other Maintenance and Production team members, including Contractors, to better understand and manage Equipment Maintenance and resolve problems impacting on all areas.
- Carry out required Work Management duties and ensure that all Documentation and Data Entry is accurately completed and to a high standard.
- Oversee and ensure high standard of workmanship and safe work practices.
- Prioritise efforts to reduce breakdowns and their duration, urgent unplanned events and interrupting work which disturbs planned and scheduled work.
- Accept a high level of ownership of Maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, attention to detail and quality of work.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs that result in higher levels of Plant and Equipment performance and availability.
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge of Safety Processes and Procedures.
- -Mechanical Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitting, Boilermaking, etc).
- Hold the Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, 2, 3 & G2).
- Demonstrated experience working at a Coal Handing Prep Plant (CHPP).
- Experience with Fixed Plant Operations.
- Experience troubleshooting crushing, conveyor and hydraulic systems.
- Trainer & Assessor certification is desirable.
- Proficiency in utilizing SAP for work functions is preferred.
