The Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and the Storr Liver Unit work closely together to provide diagnosis, treatment, education and clinical research for patients with liver and gastrointestinal disease. As part of the Clinical Trials Team, the Clinical Trial Technical Officer assists with the coordination and conduct of research studies in Liver diseases within the Storr Liver Unit.

What you'll be doing
Join the Storr Liver Unit’s Clinical Trials Team at Westmead Hospital and support vital research in liver and gastrointestinal health. As the Clinical Trials Technical Officer, you will support cutting-edge research we are all passionate about within this team, you’ll play a key part in the smooth running of clinical studies.
In this role your daily responsibilities will include:
Assist with coordination and conduct of clinical trials.
Support research activities focused on liver diseases.
Maintain study documentation and data accuracy.
Liaise with patients, clinicians, and researchers.
Contribute to high-impact, patient-centred research.

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Certificate IV in Pathology or Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
Selection Criteria
Venepuncture accreditation and proficiency, sample processing and shipping or willingness to acquire skills.
Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft, Windows based applications, email systems and eMR.
Demonstrable knowledge or willingness to train in FibroScan and ECG competencies.
