About the project
Iluka’s Eneabba Rare Earth Refinery (ERER) Project is located at Eneabba in Western Australia, around 270km north of Perth. We are delivering Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery, achieving an independent supply of rare earth oxides essential to global electrification and decarbonisation. Our state-of-the-art refinery will feature a total rare earth oxide capacity of 23,000 tonnes p.a, flexibility to process a range of feedstocks and recycling of water and reagents.
About the role
We are looking for a for a self-motivated and experienced Commissioning Manager to join the Iluka team. The role will be initially based in Perth for the first 12 months, however it will transition to the Eneabba site at the start of Commissioning. This position is on a 5/2-4/3 roster drive in/drive out from Perth or anywhere in the Midwest region. Full camp facilities are provided.
Key elements of the role include:
- Reviewing, and updating the commissioning strategy
- Represent the company in the development and implementation of the completions management system by the EPCM, including:
- Ensure the Completions Execution Plan prepared by the EPCM achieves the objectives of Iluka Rare Earths
- Overseeing the implementation of the completions managements system
- Ensuring a fit for purpose suite of ITR’s is
- Developing and implementing the commissioning plan, which involves
- Defining the plant systems and sub-systems
- Refining the commissioning sequence
- Developing energization, isolation and handover protocols to align with Iluka H&S systems and regulatory requirements
- Developing Sim-Ops procedures
- Interfacing with and guiding the EPCM and Owners team to optimise construction and commissioning schedules for lowest cost to first Pr, Nd, Dy and Tb production
- Developing all commissioning documentation
- Recruiting and leading the Commissioning from within the OT, Operations, the EPCM and external markets
- Coordinating the flow of technical and commercial information between project, owners and operations teams
- Leading the site commissioning program from C1-C5
- Support the ramp up as required by Operations team
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Significant mineral and/or chemical processing industry experience, including design, project execution, and commissioning
- Extensive experience working as a commissioning professional, particularly in the planning phase
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify critical tasks and take action to ensure execution, delivery and follow-up
- Sophisticated interpersonal skills which demonstrate integrity and courage, exhibit collaboration and accountability and show respect to others
- Current C Class driver’s license
