About the Role:
We’re after a community-minded, people-first person to help us find new wholesale opportunities and look after our existing wholesale customers. This isn’t about flashy sales pitches — it’s about building genuine relationships, understanding the needs of other small businesses, and helping them see how Baker Brens can bring value to their customers.
This part-time or casual role is flexible and would suit someone looking to work a few days a week, with freedom over their schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reach out to local businesses, cafes, and organisations to introduce them to Baker Brens’ wholesale range.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with our current wholesale clients.
- Seek out opportunities through community events, fundraisers, and local business networks.
- Help organise tastings, product drops, or small-scale promotions to connect with new leads.
- Check in regularly with wholesale customers to ensure they’re happy and supported.
- Keep simple records of sales activity, leads, and client needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone with a background in sales or account management (ideally in food, hospitality, or small business).
- Comfortable with reaching out to new leads and having a friendly chat to build interest.
- Genuinely enjoys connecting with people and building community relationships.
- Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage their own schedule.
- Based locally in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, or Hunter Valley and willing to travel around the area.
- Must have own car and licence.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with cafes, local retailers, community events, or the wholesale food scene.
- Creative or grassroots marketing ideas (but not essential).
- Love for baked goods is definitely a bonus!
