The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking a highly skilled Data & Configuration Manager to support the Armoured Fighter Vehicle Branch. This role will be central to managing configuration data, vehicle records, and technical documentation that inform the lifecycle management of Australia’s Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle fleet, including integration with next-generation combat systems.
As part of the team, you will ensure accurate configuration control, enable maintenance planning, support upgrades, and contribute to operational readiness by maintaining data integrity and compliance with Defence policies.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
Responsibilities:
- Manage comprehensive configuration control processes throughout their lifecycle, including baseline establishment, change management, and audit support.
- Oversee vehicle technical data packages, configuration records, and maintenance history to support sustainment and upgrade activities.
- Utilize Configuration Management Tools (CMT), Asset Maintenance Planning System (AMPS), and stock control systems (SCPM) to maintain accurate asset and configuration data.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, sustainment, logistics, and operational teams to ensure configuration data validates vehicle readiness and supports Defence operational requirements.
- Conduct configuration audits and verification activities to ensure compliance with Defence Configuration Management standards and Land Systems policies.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall configuration management processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on configuration management best practices within Armoured Fighter Vehicle Branch.
- Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing to strengthen configuration management capabilities across the team.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in data and configuration management within the Defence sector, preferably with armoured combat vehicle systems or similar complex military platforms.
- Strong proficiency with Configuration Management Tools such as TeamCentre and experience with Defence asset and maintenance management systems (AMPS, SCPM).
- Deep knowledge of Defence Configuration Management frameworks and Land Systems Branch policies, with a clear understanding of vehicle lifecycle sustainment.
- Proven experience supporting technical data packages, configuration audits, and asset management ensuring operational fleet readiness.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multi-disciplinary Defence teams including engineering, logistics, and operations.
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred; equivalent Defence experience will be considered.
- Mandatory possession of an active NV1 or above Defence Security Clearance.
