About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CSSD Supervisor to lead our Central Sterilising Services Department. This pivotal role is based across 2 Calvary Hospitals, St Lukes & St Vincent’s. The post holder will oversee the day-to-day operations of CSSD, ensuring the delivery of high-quality sterilisation services that support our clinical teams and align with Calvary’s mission and values.
As a CSSD Supervisor, you will:
Lead and coordinate daily CSSD operations, including scheduling workloads and resolving operational issues.
Maintain high standards of sterilisation and infection control practices.
Monitor and manage the electronic tracking system for instrument processing.
Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
Mentor and support CSSD staff through induction, training, and supervision.
Participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Uphold Calvary’s values of hospitality, healing, stewardship, and respect in all aspects of your work.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate IV in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a CSSD environment.
Strong knowledge of AS5369 standards and sterilisation practices.
Proven leadership experience and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High-level planning, organisational, and analytical abilities.
A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Comprehensive computer skills
A customer-focused mindset and dedication to Calvary’s mission.
Desirable:
Membership with SRACA (Sterilising and Research Advisory Council of Australia).
Familiarity with HICMR and SRACA standards.
Experience in delivering customer service within a healthcare setting.
