Slade Pharmacy

Be the first point of contact and provide administrative support to our Slade Pharmacy team and patients at the Epworth Hospital Richmond. Ideal opportunity for pharmacy assistants or administrative assistants wanting to build upon their admin and customer service skills.

About the Role
We’re looking for an energetic and organised Customer Service Officer (Pharmacy Assistant) to join our friendly and fast-paced team on a casual basis at Slade Pharmacy, Epworth Hospital Richmond. In this role, you’ll be much more than a receptionist—you’ll be the go-to contact for patients, hospital staff, and our pharmacy team, playing a vital part in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Your work will be varied and meaningful. You’ll be responsible for managing incoming queries and orders, booking patient appointments, and maintaining accurate administrative records. You’ll also step into pharmacy assistant duties including retail support, helping customers with over-the-counter medications (S2/S3), processing prescriptions, and general counter service.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to sharpen both their customer service and admin skills in a hospital environment. Whether you come from a pharmacy, healthcare, or administrative background, you’ll receive hands-on training and support from a collaborative, close-knit team.

You’ll be exposed to both hospital and retail pharmacy operations, giving you a rare and valuable combination of experience in one of Australia’s most respected private hospitals. If you enjoy fast-paced environments, working with purpose, and being the friendly face that makes a patient’s day better—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the first point of contact for patients, hospital, and pharmacy staff
  • Taking orders and managing the central inbox
  • Book patients for consultations and appointments with our pharmacists
  • Data entry and collection, document storage
  • Update patient lists and preparation for clinical sessions
  • Assist with ad-hoc pharmacy administration
  • Assist with patient-facing pharmacy assistant duties including, but not limited to, the sale of S2 & S3 medications, scripts in/out, retail sales and other pharmacy assistant duties
About You
Whether you’re an experienced customer service officer or an aspiring community pharmacy assistant looking for your first role in a hospital setting, we welcome you to apply.

Key Requirements:
  • Previous customer service experience essential
  • Previous exposure to pharmacy, administration, or medical reception experience highly favoured
  • A proactive team focus
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment
