About the role
Our Penrith Distribution Centre is the home to several specialist branches/teams, taking advantage of grouped logistics, repair and maintenance functions. In the DC, we have our Access, Earthmoving & Site Service, Traffic, Pump & Power specialist businesses. The DC Service Person operates throughout the entire distribution center, providing support to all specialist branches.
This role supports both the Distribution Centre and Sanitation Services department through a variety of general yard tasks, such as:
- Cleaning, pumping out and servicing portable toilets and showers
- Performing basic equipment checks and inspections for safety and readiness
- Assisting with loading/unloading of equipment and preparing gear for hire or delivery (a forklift licence is an advantage)
- Keeping the yard clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Assisting with general maintenance and cleaning of branch facilities as required
- Follow site procedures to ensure a safe and efficient operating environment
About you
- Successful applicants have come from various backgrounds such as; Customer service, building & construction, hospitality, retail, driver, landscaping, trade & maintenance.
- A valid Drivers licence and a Forklift operator’s ticket preferred
- This role requires some physical components including lifting and standing on your feet for long periods. A level of physical fitness is required and the ability to pass a drug test
- Strong communication skills including the ability to follow directions, ask questions to ensure understanding, and proactively provide information to team members
- An interest in mechanics and construction equipment and a desire to learn
- The availability to work Saturday's on a rotating roster
