- Oversight of traded market risk across interest rate and FX
- Apply market risk skills in a high-impact team
- Hybrid role: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
What’s the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the second line Market Risk team overseeing trading activity across interest rate and FX markets. You'll work closely with senior leaders to monitor market risk exposure, support enhancements to risk models, and ensure compliance with APS116 and group-wide risk frameworks.
Your day-to-day will include reviewing financial market trading activity, assessing key risk metrics, and helping shape risk governance policies. You’ll also play a hands-on role in identifying emerging risks, documenting portfolio exposures, and making sure risk frameworks are practical and future-fit.
This role puts you at the heart of Australia’s financial system and calls for a sharp mind with a passion for financial markets, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach.
The position is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney, with flexible hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office).
What do I need?
- Strong understanding of traded market risk concepts like VaR, sensitivities, and stress testing
- Interest or experience in interest rate and FX products, and how these markets work
- Knowledge of APS116 or market risk governance in Australia
- Comfort working across systems - experience with Murex or similar platforms is a plus
- Technical fluency in Python, SQL, R, or VBA is a bonus but not essential
- Sharp written and verbal skills, and a knack for translating complexity into clarity
