About VHBA
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
As the Departmental Liaison Officer, you will manage the communication between the Victorian Health Building Authority and the multiple Minister’s Office, ensuring alignment with ministerial priorities and achieving efficient business procedures. As part of a small team, this role coordinates information flow on portfolio matters and supports timely, accurate responses to external enquiries.
Key aspects of the role include
- Support cabinet and parliamentary processes by preparing and responding to requests on briefings, legislation, parliamentary questions, and ministerial correspondence.
- Promote cross-division collaboration to advance key projects, drive business improvements, and deliver on ministerial priorities.
- Collaborate with experts in services, programs, policy, and legislation to strengthen ties with the Minister’s Office and ensure alignment with government priorities.
We are looking for
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret information from various sources, develop practical solutions, and adjust plans as needed.
- Proven influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to secure buy-in, build support for initiatives, and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, promoting collaboration, trust, and mutual respect.
- Experience working in a senior executive office setting and in the public service will be highly regarded.
