About the Role
As a Support Worker at Headstart Melbourne, you’ll work directly with participants to:
- Provide community access and one-on-one support tailored to their goals.
- Assist in developing life skills, routines, and independence.
- Be a positive role model and foster meaningful connections.
- Be able to hold a safe space for our participants to feel comfortable in expressing their needs
- Support participants in outdoor activities and daily challenges that promote confidence and growth.
- The opportunity to join in on group day and after school programs at our base in Cheltenham

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about working with boys and young men and understands the importance of having positive male role models.
- Has experience in the field
- Can lead by example, showing resilience, empathy, and confidence.
- Has strong interpersonal skills and can connect with young people in a genuine and relatable way.
- Is proactive, reliable, and committed to supporting participants in reaching their goals.
- Holds or is willing to obtain a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid and CPR certification, and a driver’s licence.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $33.50 – $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Working with Children Check (Preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Preferred)
- National Police Certificate (Preferred)
- Driver Licence (Preferred)
