Disability Support Worker - Service for One Provider

ZOES VILLAGE
$39 - $65 an hour
Sunshine Coast Regional, Queensland

About the role

Make a real difference every day. Join a close-knit, family-governed service that supports one incredible person—Zoe. This is not entry-level or “just companionship”—it’s a complex, highly rewarding role for experienced Disability Support Workers who bring professional skill, strong values, and genuine care.

About Zoe

Zoe is a music enthusiast and sensory explorer who loves lots of movement, strong vibrations, drives in the car, walks along the spit and around shopping centres, sharing her joy. She enjoys swimming, cycling, using her iPad for listening to music and watching the wiggles, and exploring the outdoors. She communicates without words, using his AAC device, facial expressions, and body language. Every day is about connection, capacity-building, and supporting Zoe to live her life with independence, dignity, and joy.

About Zoe’s Village

Zoe’s Village is a family-governed, service-for-one organisation. We know Zoe deeply—her joys, her communication style, and what makes her life meaningful. You’ll join a trusted, collaborative team that works closely with Zoe’s family and allied health professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support.

Here, you’ll have the time and focus to do your job well—without the rushed, system-driven pressures of larger services. You’ll be valued for your skills and encouraged to use your professional judgment every shift. We are in the process of being an approved registered providing awaiting our approval. Our service is solely around the provision of support for Zoe to live a good life.

As a Disability Support Worker with Zoe’s Village, you’ll:

· Provide skilled, person-centred support to meet Zoe’s physical, communication, and social needs.

· Work collaboratively with your team and allied health professionals (e.g., OTs, speech therapists) to follow and implement therapy plans.

· Support Zoe to use her AAC device, and assistive technology to express herself and make choices.

· Assist with personal care, communication, and daily living support.

· Facilitate participation in community and recreational activities—music, swimming, cycling, and more.

· Maintain clear, accurate shift notes, incident reports, behaviour reports and progress updates in Podio (this will be taught).

· Contribute to team meetings, goal reviews, and continuous improvement.

· Support Zoe and the team to positively support Zoe to manage her behaviours and use communication via AAC and other supports to meet her needs.

To make sure this role is the right fit for both you and Zoe, new team members will start on a casual basis. This allows time to get to know the team, understand the expectations, and demonstrate commitment and alignment.

If it’s a strong match, and both sides agree, there will be an opportunity to transition become a long term team member with regular hours (approximately 20–30 hours/week).
