Vertical Transport Solutions Pty Ltd (VTS) is a leading provider of escalator and elevator installations, servicing, and modifications. We also specialise in security systems, home automation, and CCTV. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Electronic Equipment Technician/Trades Worker to join our team.
This role is critical in supporting the electronic and control system functionality of vertical transport mechanisms. It involves installing, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic components and control systems of vertical transport equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, and adjust electronic equipment and control systems specifically for lifts and escalators to meet required technical and safety standards.
- Test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, sensors, controllers, and interface systems within lift machinery to identify and resolve faults.
- Repair and replace faulty electronic components, wiring, control panels, and system parts to ensure the continuous operation of lift systems.
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on electronic and control components of vertical transport systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics relevant to lift installation and electronic control systems.
- Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), variable speed drives, and motor control systems integrated in modern elevator technology.
- Conduct electrical safety checks and compliance testing according to Australian lift industry standards and WHS requirements.
- Collaborate with lift mechanics, electricians, and technicians to enhance service procedures and technical performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Electronics, Computer Hardware Servicing, Electrical Fitting, or equivalent qualifications relevant to the lift industry.
- Hands-on experience with electronic and electrical control systems used in elevator and escalator operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with lift electronics, sensors, control boards, and automation systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret lift control schematics, layout diagrams, and circuit drawings.
- Familiarity with PLCs, safety relays, motor drives, and logic control used in elevator operations.
- Sound knowledge of workplace safety procedures, risk assessment, and electrical compliance practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a lift service and installation team.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
