Employee Relations Lead

About the role
Applying a solid foundation across employee relations matters, this operations focused role supports leaders across workforce management, IR/ER interpretation and application and business change. We have a complex industrial relations framework so keeping up with changes and applying them to our busy service focused environment is key. From being able to respond to multiple enquiries including those desk visits asking if you have ‘just a minute’, juggling tight timelines and coaching our small team through complex investigations this role will keep you busy. As the subject matter expert across drafting agreements and running BOOTs, to liaising with the Fair Work Commission, Ombudsman and Unions the role is highly varied, interested and incredibly rewarding.
About you
You’ll have a strong values base in your decision making and be able to navigate complex and ambiguous variables to support leaders achieve practical business outcomes. You’ll be collaborative, down to earth, able to work closely with others and committed to supporting fair, thoughtful, and compliant employee relations practices.
You’ll bring resilience, energy and the ability to be the calm in the storm when needed. Your key experience and skill set will include:
- Qualifications in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or similar is a must have
- Experience managing complex ER/IR matters, along with union and third-party relationships
- Demonstrated ability and confidence to quickly research and analyse information to support stakeholder decision making on the go
- The ability to build relationships fast and understand the needs of stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to self-motivate to achieve timely outcomes
- Advanced skills across HRIS applications and Microsoft Office suit
- Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
