MACA Mining are on the lookout for Entry Level Blast Crew to join our drill and blast teams across multiple WA mine sites on a 2:1 roster from Perth. This is your chance to break into the mining industry, build a solid foundation in blast operations and work alongside experienced crews who’ll support your growth every step of the way.
As a Blast Crew Trainee, you’ll be assisting in the security, safe handling, loading and detonation of explosives, stemming blast holes, maintaining equipment and following strict safety procedures at all times. You’ll be working outdoors in physically demanding environments so if you’re hands-on, safety-focused and not afraid of hard work, this could be your foot in the door to a long-term mining career.

Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the security, safe handling, transportation and loading of explosives
- Support the team with stemming blast holes
- Help setup exclusion zones and signage in accordance with safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Work closely with the team to follow daily blast plans
- Follow all site safety policies and procedures
- Contribute to a positive team culture by showing reliability, safety and a willingness to learn
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current Manual WA Drivers Licence (essential)
- Dangerous Goods Security Card or Receipt of Application (essential)
- A Clean police check is a mandatory requirement for this role
- The ability to work in hot, dusty and physically demanding environments
- A strong commitment to safety and following procedures
- A solid work ethic and willingness to learn
- Previous experience in labour intensive roles
- A positive attitude and the ability to work in a team
