The Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.

The Opportunity:
The Coordinator, Environment reports to the Program Manager, Health Safety, Environment and Sustainability, the role will see you responsible for coordinating and assisting the Environmental Advisor with the implementation of the Southern Program Environment Strategy, Construction Environmental Management Plan and associated subplans during construction delivery, to maximise successful project outcomes.
This role will see you working across the program which will include South Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs and North Western Suburbs.
Key accountabilities:
- Implement Environment Policy, Procedures and Legislative Requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of internal and external audits findings (Improvement Opportunities, Non-conformance’s).
- Conduct environmental monitoring, as required including noise, vibration, water and air quality.
- Monitoring environmental consultants during site works including contaminated land, ecologists and fauna handlers.
- Collection and maintenance of environmental reports and monitoring data.
- Development and delivery of environmental training, toolboxes and inductions.
- Investigation and monitoring following community environmental complaints.
- Conduct internal environmental audits and participate in external audits
- Develop and update environmental documentation including EMP, environmental procedures, worksite environmental management plans and environmental control plans.
- Working with site teams following an environmental incident and conduct incident reporting.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in the application of environmental management principles in the construction industry Competencies:
- Working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001)
- Working knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations and best practice publications
