THE ROLE –
- Case Management for Young People: The primary responsibility is to provide case support and intensive case management to young people, specifically in the context of family violence. This includes helping them develop skills to manage relationships and resolve conflict in a positive way.
- Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: The role requires ongoing individual risk assessments and safety plans to be conducted. This work involves using the MARAM framework (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management) to ensure the safety of the adolescent and their family, including other children in the home.
- Family Violence Education and Skill Building: A key component of the job is educating young people and their families about the effects of family violence. You will also provide activities and information to help them build positive connections with others.
- Utilising Specific Frameworks: The position requires the application of specific models and frameworks. You must use the Advantaged Thinking model, which focuses on a young person’s strengths and aspirations rather than their deficits, and you must also be proficient in using the MARAM framework for risk assessment and safety planning.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: The role is highly collaborative. You are expected to participate in team and agency meetings, work effectively within a team environment, and contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of programs. This also includes participating in a “Community of Practice” to ensure a collaborative service approach.
The Ideal Candidate will bring:
- Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of Family Violence with a particular focus on
- Adolescent family violence in the home.
- Experience working effectively with adolescents presenting with high risk and difficult
- Knowledge and understanding of the Advantaged Thinking model and MARAM Framework.
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check |Police Check
- Minimum requirement of Diploma of Community Services or other relevant qualifications and experience appropriate to the field (refer to Position Description).
