About the role
Ipswich City Council has multiple vacancies available for enthusiastic individuals seeking secure employment in the Ipswich area. We are seeking Field Workers and Leading Hands to join our Capital Delivery teams and contribute to building and maintaining vital infrastructure projects.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Field Worker: Responsible for general labouring tasks including shovelling, spotting, concreting, and installing pipes and gully units. Some of the small plant equipment you will operate are quick-cut saws, jackhammers, vibrating plates, and hammer drills.
- Leading Hand: Your day will involve supporting field operations while leading your crew to ensure work is completed to quality standards. You will be responsible for conducting toolbox talks, completing WHS documentation, and overseeing daily tasks to maintain safety and compliance on site.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current C class drivers’ licence
- General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card.
- Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or demonstrated construction knowledge and experience.
- Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

These positions are full time permanent roles with a salary commencing at $68,049 for Field Workers and $74,110 Leading Hand plus 12.5% superannuation.
- 9 day fortnight: Every second weekend is a long weekend
